Uniform Guide:-

It is important to look well groomed, neatly presented and take pride in your appearance as a dancer, no matter what style of dance you study. Dance attire is specially designed to fit the dancer?s body so their movements can be clearly seen by the teacher. Loose and ill fitting street wear is not suitable for most classes as it can hide incorrect technique and impede movement.

The same applies for wearing the correct dance shoes. Every style of dance has a specific style of shoe designed especially to give the correct amount of slip, grip, bounce, support and even sound. A Dancer's shoes really are their tools of the trade. You wouldn't expect to play tennis without a tennis racquet, so you shouldn't expect to learn to dance without a dance uniform.

TINY DANCERS

There is no compulsory uniform for these classes. In fact many students wear their favourite fairy, princess, ballet, super hero or character outfits and we encourage them to do so. If you can't get all dressed up to go dancing then when can you? However, most of the students do prefer to wear the uniform that the older students wear.  One thing we do insist upon is proper dance shoes. For the short term, runners or other flexible soled shoes are fine, but please do not waste money purchasing 'Jiffies'. 'Jiffies' have slippery soles, flick off the student's feet and can cause them to trip, plus they are made of vinyl and do not allow the feet to breathe. For only a few extra dollars, Leather Ballet Shoes can be bought which have been specially designed for dance and are available from size 5.
